Hip Happy Hour

A Hip Happy Hour is your personal celebration — before surgery to honor your courage, or after surgery to mark your healing milestones. Think of it as a moment to pause, reflect, and reward yourself for navigating one of life's toughest journeys: hip recovery. Whether you're pre-op, post-op, or somewhere in between, Hip Happy Hour is about making your journey comfortable, safe, and celebratory.

1
Choose Your Setting
At home, in a park, at a local café, or virtually with friends, family, or fellow hip replacement warriors.
2
Invite Your HIP Crew
A Hip Buddy, friends and family who uplift you, or members of online hip replacement communities.
3
Set Your Intentions
Celebrate small victories, set healing goals, and acknowledge the emotional journey — it's okay to feel nervous, frustrated, or even excited.
4
Make It Fun
Play uplifting music, prepare a special treat, and include a personal ritual — light a candle, write a gratitude note, or toast to your future mobility.
5
Keep the Momentum Going
Hip Happy Hour is not a one-time event — it's a mindset. Celebrate milestones: your first walk without a cane, returning to a favorite activity, or reaching a therapy goal.

Hip Buddy Program

A Hip Buddy is someone who has been through hip replacement and is willing to share their experience with someone who is preparing for or recovering from surgery.

Hip Buddies provide peer support and shared experience — not medical advice. They're not doctors or therapists. They're people who understand what it's actually like, because they've been there.

Ready for a Hip Buddy? Whether you're looking for someone who's been there or you'd like to be that person for someone else, choose your path below.

Hip Buddies provide peer support only. They are not medical professionals and do not provide medical advice.

Share Your Story

Your hip replacement story matters. Not just to you — to the person who is exactly where you were six months ago, lying awake at 2 a.m. wondering if they're making the right decision. Your story could be the thing that helps them feel less alone.

Stories are not automatically published. Jodi reviews all submissions and will reach out if she'd like to feature your story.
